Forget Hybrids, think Horses! Shovel Ready Zero Carbon Transit Technology

2010 April 1

As governments struggle with the growing infrastructure and operating costs of infrastructure, HDT (horse drawn tram) technology becomes an appealing transportation solution that generates zero emission and costs a fraction of comparable alternatives.

Residents of the Isle of Man rave about their smooth and reliable HDT system. Researchers from around the world have been flocking to this small island to see just how this technology can be implemented across Europe, Asia and North America.

Although the current version does not satisfy all ADA requirements, researchers at the Southern Horse-drawn Institute of Transportation, are working on improved version which is anticipated to be fully eligible for federal funding.

For more northern climates, a current research project is underway on potential applications of HDS (horse drawn sleigh), derived from years of successful operation during the Christmas season.

Keep on the lookout for a rapid build out of this cutting edge technology as all of these systems are truly shovel ready.
