Something I dug up while doing some research for high-speed rail was this interesting compilation of articles done by Discovery for High-Speed Rail Week.
Not soon before a big grin appeared on my face, a frown wiped it out when I realized this was all from 2009 (WHAT?). Nonetheless, this collection of articles from just about a year ago really show where we have improved, where we are still heading, and where we elected politicians with empty promises.
Some of the great foreshadowing articles listed were:

Well, I just found our Urban Planet forum and a lot of the information was from 2004(including a pretty snazy plan for light rail in our region. ) Coupled with our failed downtown development plan in Greensboro, it’s not a good week for urbanism in my neck of the woods.
