Leonardo DiCaprio to promote Tesla Motors Roadster

The apparently already NRDC-supporting, Earth-friendly, Prius-loving DiCaprio teamed with Tag Heuer (Tiger Woods‘ ex-sponsor) to release a special edition Tesla Motors . In an effort to show the world the impact of a zero-emission plug-in electric sports car (and also sell some more Tag Heuer watches), the Tag Heuer Tesla will be traveling around the world in a 12,000 mile, 8 month long trip.

DiCaprio kicked off the unveling in Basel, Switzerland and the car will continue to go on making stops in places like Monaco, Milan, Budapest, Warsaw, Delhi, Shanghai, Tokyo, L.A., New York, London, and ending in Paris. DiCaprio himself is an owner of a Tesla, along with his , and hopes to encourage world-wide support for combating climate change. Who knew Jack Dawson loved Mother Earth so much?

    Those roadsters can really move and they look great. I think it would be tough to choose the Prius.

    Unfortunately the technology that’s green/sustainable and powerful has yet to come down to a price that is reasonably affordable for us non-celebrity folk. Now that I think about it, the Prius ain’t that cheap either.
